Enrolling in the Shell Rotella Limited Warranty is free with purchase and use of qualifying Shell Rotella® heavy duty diesel engine oils. The warranty is valid up to 10 years or 400,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, with use of Shell Rotella® T4 Triple Protection® or Shell Rotella® T5 Synthetic Blend Technology heavy duty diesel engine oils. It is valid up to 15 years or 800,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, guaranteed* when Shell Rotella® T6 Full Synthetic heavy duty diesel engine oils are consistently used.
- Valid for Shell Rotella® customers that change their own oil or have their oil changed at a service location and update the Warranty website at least once every 12 months. You must follow your original equipment manufacturer’s oil drain interval requirements.
- Covers ten (10) heavy duty diesel engine parts
- Transferable up to 125,000 kilometers

Cost of the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty:
The Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty for heavy duty diesel engines is Free with the purchase and use of Shell Rotella® T4 Triple Protection®, Shell Rotella® T5 Synthetic Blend Technology, or Shell Rotella® T6 Full Synthetic engine oil up to 15 years or 800,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, guaranteed*.
To participate:
- Use an eligible Shell Rotella® engine oil. The warranty takes effect six (6) months after your first purchase of an eligible Shell Rotella® heavy duty diesel engine oil.
- To maintain warranty, SOPUS Products, at a minimum, requires you to service your vehicle’s engine with an eligible Shell Rotella® heavy duty engine oil, in the service classification and viscosity grade that is appropriate for your vehicle as recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. You should change your vehicle’s oil and oil filter at least as often as your vehicle manufacturer recommends (refer to your owner’s manual), and keep your receipts.
- Enroll online using the “Log-in or Register” button above.
- Update your oil change records online at least once every twelve (12) months, even if no oil change has taken place, on the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty website so you can maintain your coverage.
Eligible vehicles:
To qualify, your vehicle must be a Class 1, Class 2 through Class 8 vehicle with a heavy duty diesel engine used in on-road applications with a gross vehicular weight of 80,000 pounds or less that you own or lease, and which has been driven 80,000 kilometers or less when you first used an eligible Shell Rotella® engine oil and whose manufactured date is within the last 24 months of your first use of an eligible Shell Rotella® engine oil (“Eligible Vehicle”).
Warranty coverage:
This Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty covers Class 1, Class 2 through Class 8 vehicles with heavy duty diesel engines used in on-road applications. When registered, this warranty provides coverage for repair or replacement of certain heavy duty engine parts that fail on account of engine wear or which experience abnormal wear, because Shell Rotella® heavy duty diesel engine oil failed to provide proper lubrication.
- Up to 15 years or 800,000 kilometers (whichever is first), guaranteed* – if you exclusively use Shell Rotella® T6 Full Synthetic heavy duty engine oil.
- Up to 10 years or 400,000 kilometers (whichever is first) – if you exclusively use Shell Rotella® T4 Triple Protection® heavy duty engine oil or Shell Rotella® T5 Synthetic Blend Technology heavy duty engine oil.

Your vehicle’s Listed Engine Parts will be covered against lubrication caused failure from the time you were eligible for this Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty program as follows:

Fleets can qualify for the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty program as long as they meet the qualification requirements set by the program. Vehicles used, registered or leased for off-road, agricultural or competition purposes do not qualify for the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty.

No. This Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty does not cover vehicles modified for, or used in competitive events, or which are subject to similar abnormal driving conditions.

I use synthetic engine oil; am I still required to change my oil as often as my owner manual states?
Yes – one of the main functions of engine oil is to remove contaminants and combustion by-products from the engine by holding them in suspension. Although synthetic engine oils are designed to provide better protection under extreme heat and heavy loads, any oil will reach a saturation point where it can no longer hold the contaminants and protect the engine from them.

To remain compliant with the program, you must change your vehicle’s engine oil and oil filter at least as often as recommended by the vehicle’s manufacturer. Replace your vehicle’s air filter and air cleaner element at least as often as your vehicle manufacturer recommends, and maintain your vehicle’s emission control system in accordance with your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

You can transfer this Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty before your vehicle has been driven 125,000 kilometers. The person you are transferring the warranty to should be provided with copies of your receipts in order to prove compliance with the terms of the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty. You must start the transfer process via the Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty website.

Yes – to maintain warranty coverage you must change your vehicle’s oil and oil filter at least as often as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. You must minimally follow the service requirements stated in your owner’s manual. If you have chosen to change your oil more frequently, then your coverage under this program could still be valid. However, if you have exceeded the stated service requirements than you would void your coverage.

Yes – The retention and legibility of your service/purchase receipts is important. If you have a claim, you must be able to show SOPUS Products that you used Shell Rotella® engine oil, and satisfy all other requirements, before you will be eligible for reimbursement under this Shell Rotella® Lubrication Limited Warranty. Please store your receipts in a safe place. Omission of any receipts may result in a claim being denied.
