SuperRigs Truck Beauty Contest:

The 35th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs® is the industry’s premier working truck beauty contest where trucks from across the U.S. and Canada will compete to be the best of the best.

A panel of four judges will score each customized rig based upon criteria such as Appearance, Design, Detail/Finish, Originality and Workmanship. Contestants can compete in 5 main categories: Tractor, Tractor/Trailer, Classic, Working Truck Limited Mileage and Show Truck. There are also optional categories to be judged; Best Engine, Best Lights, Best Interior, Best Chrome and Best Theme.

The only thing more giant than the competition are the prizes. There are over $25,000 in cash and prizes, and drivers also have the chance to be featured in the 2018 SuperRigs calendar.

Shell ROTELLA ‘Selfie for Giving’ Activation:

Show your support for local Tulsa! Guests to the SuperRigs event will be encouraged to take a ‘selfie’ with the Tulsa Golden Driller and post the image on their Instagram platforms using the hashtag #DonateWithRotella. For every public image posted, Rotella will donate $1.00 (up to $1,000) to a local Tulsa charity.

Special Guests:

Larry Koester:

The 2017 season will mark Larry Koester’s 31st year of tractor pulling in the mini-modified division. Koester started competing as a hobby following a farm tractor accident in 1986. Once a mechanism for the brakes and throttle to drive the “Footloose” machine was figured out, what started as a hobby soon transformed into much more.

In 2016 Larry finished second to his son Adam in the Mini-Modified Grand National points standings and third overall in the Shell Rotella Cup points standings.

Larry continues to be one of the most visible and popular drivers on the NTPA truck and tractor pulling circuit. He has been nominated as “Mini Modified Puller of the Year” three times. He is also very involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the foundation throughout his pulling career both as a volunteer and spokesperson.

All events take place on the Tulsa Expo Square grounds at the Exchange Center, with the exception of the Truck Parade Friday night. The Truck Parade will take place Downtown Tulsa at Guthrie Green in the Brady Arts District.
