HOUSTON – Shell ROTELLA® has unveiled its latest work on Unsung, a series of highly stylized, dynamic short-form documentaries capturing the often-overlooked stories of hardworking individuals from Alaska to Canada and New York City. These three new additions to the Unsung series, along with additional bonus content, follow the lives of hardworking individuals in their element, providing an inside look at the inspiration behind their drive. With these latest installments, Shell ROTELLA® works to continue to honor hardworking men and women through the innovative Unsung series.

“The Shell ROTELLA® brand places high value on our hardworking community of individuals who work day-in and day-out behind the scenes to help make a positive impact on their families and communities,” said Chris Guerrero, global brand manager, Shell ROTELLA®. “These unsung heroes define hard work and through this series, the Shell ROTELLA® brand is able to honor them while paying homage to their craft.”

From an ironworker who walks the skies of New York City erecting skyscrapers to a retired postmaster in Alaska who traversed some of the country’s toughest terrain, these are the stories of self-motivated individuals working long hours and relying on their hard work ethic to run the small businesses that propel the lifestyles of those around them.

Many of the featured individuals leave their families behind for weeks at a time to provide for them, while others travel great distances to deliver goods to others. It is these selfless individuals that deserve recognition for all they provide to their families and others in the name of hard work and dedication.

The three new short-form documentaries featured at http://bit.ly/1l3O7I9 provide a glimpse into the hardworking lives of:

  • Mike Hawes, Facility Supervisor at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Tucson, Arizona. Mike leads a team of scientists who guarantee the 24 telescopes of ‘Sky City’ are always running optimally to ensure stars can be mapped on a nightly basis.
  • Chad Snow, a member of the Mohawk Tribe, walks the skies of New York City as a connector in one of the most tradition-rich Ironworkers Unions in the country. The Mohawk Skywalkers commute nearly 400 miles a week to erect the skyscrapers of New York City, often leaving their families across the Canadian border for the work week.
  • John Borg was Postmaster for Eagle, Alaska for over 28 years across one of the toughest terrains in North America. At 47 years in Alaska and counting, John continues to set out every spring to join a dozen dog mushers who reenact the long mail run of the “Iron Man of the North,” Percy DeWolfe. Percy traveled from Dawson City, Yukon to Eagle, Alaska and back for 40 years.

Shell ROTELLA® also presents a behind-the-scenes look at the hard work ethic and passion that drives the contestants of the Shell ROTELLA® SuperRigs and NHRDA drag racing competitions.

  • Shell ROTELLA® gives you the inside story of some of the individuals competing at the 2015 NHRDA drag races. Trey Sikes carries on a family tradition of drag racing in his 2010 VW Jetta SportWagen. Anthony Reames lives for the speed and competition of a drag race with his 1995 Dodge Cummins. 2015 NHRDA Super Street Champion Wade Minter brings home the trophy with his 2006 Chevrolet Duramax.
  • Shell ROTELLA® better acquaints you with a few of the SuperRigs 2015 contestants. Ray Rodriguez Jr.’s SuperRig “Wicked” brings Ray freedom when he is behind the wheel. Michael Lejuen is a 35-year veteran of the trucking industry and has used hard work to make himself the man he is today. Dustin Pope carries on the Pope Produce family business name everyday on the road. Shell Rotella also asks various SuperRigs 2015 attendees the pivotal question of “What is hard work to you?”
